Golden State Warriors
The Warriors’ up-and-coming star, Ethan Thompson who was explosive from the bench against the Miami Heat elevated his performance this time. Thompson bagged a double-double score of 22 points and 11 rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, Thompson’s defensive play didn’t decline as he had the most steals (3) in the game with eight defensive rebounds.
Deaqwon Plowden was another top performer in his last summer game. Against the Miami Heat, Plowden left the court injured with 20+ points. However, he came back against the Lakers to become the Warrior’s second-top performer. Plowden got 14 points and 8 rebounds, shooting 4-of-7 shot attempts. Defensively, he got two blocks to maximize his team’s offensive pressure.
Sacramento King 2
Despite losing to the Miami Heat, Jordan Ford, who was a potential breakout player before his last game, proved his ability to develop and improve. Jordan got 22 points and four rebounds against the Heat, making 8-of-13 field goal attempts. He was also active defensively by having two steals and three defensive rebounds. He could do better against the Warriors team.
Adonis Arms wasn’t in his bag like when he played against the Los Angeles Lakers and bagged 30+ points. The Miami Heat played good defense and deterred Adonis from unleashing his full offensive potential. The Kings’ guard got 14 points and four rebounds. The Warriors’ defensive playbook is good, thus, Adonis Arms would have the chance to prove he has a good development IQ.
Possible Breakout Players of the Game
Golden State Warriors
There are two players to look out for against the Sacramento King 2. These players are Marques Bolden, the Warrior’s main rim protector, and Mantas Rubstavicius. Bolden got nine points, four blocks, and eight rebounds which was lower than his last performance. Thus he has the potential of getting a double-double digit against the Kings 2. Mantas, who plays forward, came off the bench to bag 12 points, making 2-of-5 three-pointers, six rebounds, and two steals. Thus, Mantas should do better if he starts with Thompson and Plowden.
Sacramento Kings 2
Xavier Sneed (F) improved in points and assists despite losing his last game. He got 18 points with three assists and rebounds. Sneed can improve his performance against the Warriors by ensuring more ball movement to create openings for shots. Also, Antonie Davis came off the bench to score ten points. He did the same in his last game but got 20 points instead. However, Davis is a vital rotation piece for the Kings 2 as he portrays promising potential offensive skills before facing the Warriors.
