Golden State Warriors Point Guard Stephen Curry is in the midst of his best month of the season. He is averaging 31 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in February. His 31 points per game is the most he has averaged in any month this season. Following a slow start to the regular season, Curry has seemingly found his footing over the last few weeks.
His great play transferred over to the NBA All-Star Game. Curry was named All-Star Game MVP on Sunday helping Shaq’s OGs prevail. The Golden State Warriors will be in a dogfight over the final 30 games of the regular season for playoff seeding in a crowded Western Conference. Will Curry be able to keep up his strong level of play?

Golden State has a record of 28-27. That is the 10th seed in the Western Conference. Following a middling start, the Golden State Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in exchange for Andrew Wiggins. Butler has gotten off to a strong start with his new team going 3-1.
The Warriors offense has been considerably better with the addition of Butler. Golden State’s offense is 19th in points per game, 26th in field goal percentage, and 16th in three-point percentage. As these statistics show, Golden State’s offense has a ways to go. Golden State has been led by its defense this season. They are ninth in points allowed, 11th in opposing field goal percentage, and 16th in opposing three-point percentage. If the Warriors can improve their offense while maintaining a strong defense, the second half of the regular season will be successful.
Final Thoughts
Golden State begins the second half of the season by hosting the Sacramento Kings on Friday. Curry needs to continue turning back the clock so the team can reach its full potential. Even though the Golden State Warriors are not championship contenders this season, the duo of Butler and Curry will keep them interesting. Their ceiling is a playoff series win.
