KKR took to social media platform X to honor Gautam Gambhir’s new role, posting an old quote from him:

It is the biggest privilege there is in any football franchise to be able to coach your national team.

This tribute shows that the franchise has a deep level of respect for and regards Gautam Gambhir, who has played an important role within the franchise both on the playing field and off it as a coach.

It is remarkable how sincere and enthusiastic KKR leaders present Gautam Gambhir’s transformation from one of the brilliant players and a team’s backbone to the young coach, who will contribute to the future of Indian cricket.

Officially, the coaching career of Gautam Gambhir starts when India takes on Sri Lanka in three T20Is and three ODIs starting July 27. This series will be the debut of his coaching career at the international level for the team. Crowned as an Indian team captain, though Gautam Gambhir never had a coaching background, he has a good cricketing mind and good leadership qualities to lead the Indian team.

It will be a must-see if he is going to apply this kind of strategy and seek to encourage his players when he is no longer part of IPL mentoring and directly moves to coaching the national team.
