2024 NBA Draft: G-League Players That Could Make A Big Splash

The 2024 NBA Draft has been explosive this year with more competitive potential draft picks. The G-League also displayed promising players who could make an impressive impact after the NBA Draft.

While the NBA Finals are yet to begin, the NBA scheduled the NBA Draft on June 26 and 27. Thus, potential pros are working out and taking medical tests to prepare themselves for this exciting draft.

Who are the potential pro players who could exceed expectations after the draft?

NBA Draft: Tyler Smith 6’10” Small Forward

Tyler Smith is ranked No. 27 prospect in the ESPN Top 100 list. Tyler Smith hails from Houston and joined Izan Almansa from Overtime Elite. The 6 ’10” small forward portrayed his offensive prowess by averaging 13.7 points and 5.1 boards in 22 minutes while making 36% of his three-point shots. Also for an 18-year-old, these results are quite impressive. As a small forward he has proven that aside from playing offensively, he can help his team pull down defensive rebounds. This is part of the essential skill NBA scouts are looking for.

NBA Draft From G-League Ignite: Ron Holland

Ron Holland is a 6 ‘7” small forward who played in this season’s G-League Ignite team. He was the 13th NBA prospect however due to a high-upside in the NBA player, he became the 11th NBA prospect out of the ESPN top 100 list.

Ron Holland wings out from Duncanville, Texas, and averaged 19.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 steals. Thus depending on the team that lands this young star, he could play well as a two-way player on the court.

Also, Holland won two gold medals in USA Basketball, an AAU tournament, and a Texas state championship.

Matas Buzelis 6’10 Small Forward

Matas also played for the Ignite Team. He landed him the No. 5 prospect in ESPN’s Top 100. Mata Buzeils is from Hinsdale, Illinois. He played for Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas where he averaged 15.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks on 53.7% shoot from the floor. He also shot 43.7% from deep.

The Lithuanian-American could be the first overall selection of the 2024 NBA Draft as he led his team to a 22-8 record and collected the 2022-23 Gatorade Kansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year. With this award and ability to create problems for the defenders, Buzelis should be a high draft pick in a few weeks.

Who To Watch Out For This 2024 NBA Draft

2024 NBA Draft

Though young, this French basketball player has been impressive and he is a player to watch out for this NBA Draft.

The 18-year-old Power Forward, Tidjane Salaun, came on strong at the U18 European Championship. He helped his team in the French First division, Cholet, win a vital game against the No. 2 seed Paris.

Though the French player has more to learn, NBA scouts find this up-and-coming star intriguing as he poses threats both offensively and defensively. Salaun is also the No. 10 prospect in the ESPN Top 100 list. Finally, if he gets drafted, the easiest team to attract him is the San Antonio Spurs due to his connection with Victor Wembanyama.
