Former First-Rounder Fired From ESPN’s Monday Night Football Broadcast for 2024 Season

ESPN demotes Robert Griffin III

In surprising events, Robert Griffin is kicked out of ESPN’s Monday Night Football in 2024. The former first-rounder was fired after the network hired Jason Kelce to a position in their flagship football program. While Griffin was a decent fit for the program, getting rid of him after hiring Kelce is stunning.

The entire situation seems weird for fans and could lead to something bad soon. With Jason Kelce coming to ESPN, they cut him after last season. While the situation is sad for RG3, this opens doors for Jason to do well in ESPN. Even with the lack of a familiar face in the program, it won’t affect the program in the end for new audiences.

ESPN outing Robert Griffin seems silly but could end well for Jason Kelce and the network.

ESPN Getting Rid of a Huge Personality

During the height of the NFL offseason, TV networks are making changes to their programming, especially on ESPN. Recently, the program hired Jason Kelce to cover Monday Night Football. While the hiring is good for the network, they had to cut one of their personalities from the show.

One of the personalities from ESPN’s flagship program, Robert Griffin, will be gone from the position. The decision to fire him was random, and it surprised many people in the sports world. While Kelce is a fun personality, Griffin is also a fun commentator. RG3 made some amusing moments in the Monday Night Primetime, and it feels weird to see him go.

Who Will Replace This ESPN Personality

While the choice is strange, there is a reason why the sports media giant made it. Jason Kelce is a fun personality who could attract viewers to their Monday night football games. While RG3 is a fun commentator, he has opinions that are out there. ESPN is demoting RG3, which is a strange move but understandable.

Another reason that Jason Kelce is replacing Griffin is to capitalize on the popularity of the Kelce brothers right now. With the Kelce brothers podcast getting popular and Travis dating one of the top pop stars, ESPN will want to capitalize on that popularity. Getting one of the more charming players after he has retired could do wonders for the network and its popularity.

Final Thoughts

ESPN outing Robert Griffin seems silly but could end well for Jason Kelce and the network. RG3 was a known face of the program for a few years, and it feels weird for the network to let him go. While he is not fired, it feels strange for the program to replace him with someone else.

The network replacement for RG3 also makes sense with Jason Kelce in the broadcast booth.  Jason Kelce’s charisma on people is spellbinding, and ESPN wanted that charm. While replacing RG3 will be controversial, ESPN is hoping that Jason’s charm could win viewers over.

In the end, ESPN is making a business move that could help their network in the upcoming NFL season. It also could help Jason in his post-retirement career and show why he was beloved by the community.
