2 Former Captains Resolve Severe Dispute Between Shaheen & Babar

Two renowned former captains, Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi have offered to arbitrate and deal with differences between famous players. Recently, ex-captains made aggressive attempts to bridge the gap between Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan.

According to reports, the former captains have called the three national cricketers. Upon Shaheen’s arrival to the country, the three national cricketers may gather at the home of a previous captain. Remember, Shaheen has been in the headlines for a few days following his argument with Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan’s tour of England right before the T20 World Cup 2024.

A day after news from Lahore stated that coaches and administrators had protested to the chairman of PCB about Shaheen’s attitude during the previous trip. PCB revealed that Afridi had exchanged hot words with Yousuf before apologizing to him.

Mission Of Former Captains

The former captains Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi have the same goal for Pakistan cricket’s prosperity. Their coordinated efforts guarantee that leadership development continues while bridging generational gaps between seasoned players and young potential.

Well, this step is critical for ensuring team stability and consistency. Misbah and Afridi, who are the former captains of Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan, highlight the necessity of valuing individual skills and contributions. They understand that each player adds distinct qualities to the team. That improves the overall performance of the team.

Gary Kirsten’s Dissatisfaction Regarding Team

Gary Kirsten Sr. also appeared dissatisfied with the players’ disagreements and lack of interest in team operations. Kirsten criticized the squad’s cooperation. He said about this issue,

“Since I’ve arrived, I’ve noticed that there is no togetherness in this group. It’s fair to say that this is a team, but this is not a squad, no player to anybody.” It should be remembered that he is the head coach of the Pakistani squad.

He failed to reach the Super Eight in the T20 World Cup. He held up a mirror to the players. They do not support each other. Both the right and left are completely different. I’ve served with several teams and have never encountered such a circumstance.

Heat Of The Moment

It was reported that fast bowler Shaheen Afridi’s behavior toward the coaches was inappropriate. The Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi had received complaints about it.

Shaheen Afridi was furious with batting coach Muhammad Yousuf, which aggravated the situation. Again, the incident occurred before the World Cup, during the England trip. Former captains of the Pakistan cricket team stated that the issue was “heat-of-the-moment” and that it was resolved swiftly, with nothing to report.

A source said that Afridi was bowling in the nets at Headingly. Mohammad Yousuf, the team’s batting coach on tour in Ireland and England, pointed out his no-balls.  Shaheen became enraged after being called out for bowling no-balls on many occasions. And this is when the trouble began.

“Shaheen told Mohammad Yousuf to let him do what he was doing. He should do his work.” M. Yousaf said that he was a trainer and he was doing his work. That’s why the former captains took notice of this incident.

To sum up, the involvement of former captains in handling this issue of players is very positive. These players are the future of Pakistani cricket. They should work together for the development of cricket. Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan. Their efforts can remove the gap between Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan.
