In breaking news, former 1st round pick Devante Parker retires from the NFL after nine years in the league. Parker had a strong career with the Dolphins and Patriots but never fulfilled his potential. While he had a lot of potential and strengths, it feels like his career dwindled. 

The former first-round pick was solid with the Dolphins but fell from the pecking order after a breakout 2019 season. Even with a strong 2019, it feels like he is an underrated piece for the Dolphins offense, but he never was the same.

Devante Parker had a strong nine years in the league with five thousand receiving yards and 27 career touchdowns. After seven years with the Dolphins, the 1st round pick signed with the Patriots in 2022. After signing with the Patriots, he was never the same with injuries and underperforming. 

After a weak 2023, the 1st round pick is deciding to retire from the league. While injuries are a crucial reason he is retiring, there are also the fears of losing his abilities and more injuries coming. There is also no sight of teams wanting the former 1st round pick so the confidence must have been low.

Even if he is still a free agent, Parker has regressed in the past three seasons and is not the same. In the past three years, Parker had less than three touchdowns in 2021 and 2022. During the 2023 season, Parker was invisible throughout last season and struggled with receptions and touchdowns. New England was a disaster for Parker, and he just couldn’t fit into the scheme. 

While the former 1st round pick was amazing for a time, he fell like any other receiver. There was a lot from Parker that was left on the field and he was underrated. Even with the Dolphins replacing him, Parker still made an impact for the Dolphins in difficult times during their
