The Florida Panthers started training camp this week ahead of the pre-season games that run from September 22nd to October 6th. The Panthers will open the NHL season at home against the Boston Bruins, where they will defend their title. The Panthers will get their championship rings and three new banners.
Here are some Questions Into Training Camp

The first question that has been asked is: Do the Panthers have the Stanley Cup Hangover? This question was also asked last season when the Panthers made it to the Finals against the Vegas Golden Knights. But it did not seem to phase them when the Florida Panthers made it back again and won the Cup.
Coach Paul Maurice said “We’ll start right now with the “hangover” concept, we don’t believe in it, its not a physical issue with us.” The Panthers are coming into this season healthy with no injuries than when they came into the 23-24 season.
The Florida Panthers’ roster has also changed. They added and traded players in the offseason. The Florida Panthers traded Brandon Montour, Ryan Lomberg, Nick Cousins, and Kevin Stenlund, among other players.
However, they have also added players to the roster: Nate Schmidt, Adam Boqvist, Jesper Boqvist, and Chris Dredger, to name some. The battle for the fourth line begins in training camp. Who will get the seventh spot? Do the Panthers keep a defenseman or forward?
The Panthers’ goalie position seems to be set as well. Sergei Bobrovsky is the starting Goaltender, and young star Spencer Knight seems to be back from having mental health issues a few seasons ago. The NHLPA helped Knight with a program to help with his mental health awareness. The fans will love seeing Knight back out on the ice this season.
Florida Panthers Power Play
The Florida Panthers’ powerplay has one big question: Who will quarterback it this year? Since Oliver Ekman-Larsson is now with the Toronto Maple Leafs, it seems the Panthers will look into either Gus Forsling, Adam Boqvist, or Aaron Ekblad for the quarterback role.
As training camp has begun the Panthers have to get through Camp Maurice which is hard skating and fast pace developmental training. Whoever survives will get a spot on the roster and the others will be sent down to the AHL minor leagues.
The Florida Panthers are confident in themselves coming into this season despite playing 209 games over the past two seasons. Head Coach Paul Maurice is not worried about the teams’ energy with the shortened off-season. He feels that after this past season, the players want more.
