Florida Panthers Head Coach Paul Maurice had a quiet and peaceful summer in Canada after taking the Panthers to the Stanley Cup and winning it all. Maurice has been in the NHL coaching for 30 years and chasing the biggest trophy in sports. Paul Maurice finally won it and just needed rest for the summer. All Maurice said his time in Canada was “simply peaceful.” Paul Maurice did not do much of any partying this summer, he only had his party moments the night the Florida Panthers won Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers and when the Florida Panthers had their victory parade in Fort Lauderdale.

Paul Maurice shared with the Associated Press that winning the Stanley Cup isn’t about you it is about sharing it with others. He said, “You don’t win the Cup.” “What I realized is you share it. It’s not yours.” Maurice this summer reflected on the moments he had shared with his family and friends winning and sharing the Cup with them. Maurice said “The moment of winning the Cup is indescribable. The best part of a day like that is watching all the people around you be happy at the same time.”
The Florida Panthers and General Manager Bill Zito brought in Paul Maurice on June 22nd, 2022. Maurice replaced interim coach Andrew Brunette. The previous year the Florida Panthers were Atlantic Division Champs and President Trophy winners but departed from the playoffs early in the 2nd round when they got swept by the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will be Maurice’s third season with the Panthers.
Head Coach Paul Maurice is fourth all-time in regular-season wins among NHL coaches. The 15th game of Florida’s upcoming season, Nov. 9 at home against the Philadelphia Flyers will be the 2,000th of his career, including playoffs, a milestone that only Scotty Bowman has reached. His place in coaching history was secure before Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. It might have been a very different story if the Panthers had lost Game 7 and blown a 3-0 series lead. But the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup and Maurice will be one of the greatest coaches in hockey history.
Coach Paul Maurice is back in town and gearing up for the new season. Even though the celebrations are still ongoing in South Florida. Recently the Cup was at Kaseya Center where the Miami Heat play on Sunday. Players had gathered with Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra. Maurice is trying to focus on training camp and the new season ahead. The Florida Panthers will open up the pre-season on Sept 22nd and play four games before the 82-game NHL season starts for the Panthers on Oct 2nd in Orlando against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
