Application Deadline Passes for Head Coach Position
The official cutoff time to apply for the Indian men’s cricket squad‘s head coach job finished on May 27, simply a day after the end of IPL 2024. While reports recommend Gautam Gambhir as a possible up-and-comer, Rajkumar Sharma has an alternate view. Rajkumar Sharma, a Dronacharya awardee and Virat Kohli’s young life coach, has proposed unbelievable cricketer MS Dhoni as a potential lead trainer.
Talking on India News’ program CRICIT PREDICT A, Sharma expressed,

Former India fast bowler Atul Wasan offered a different take on the role of a coach in T20 cricket.
“I think the role of a coach should be removed in T20 cricket and a mentor should be kept instead, along with a format expert like AB de Villiers. The West Indies team ruled world cricket from 1979 to 1989,, not because of a coach.
India won the 1983 and 2007 World Cups because of its players, not the coach. The work of a coach is limited to taking the team from the field to the hotel. In football, there are managers, not coaches. Similarly, in cricket, there should be a manager who manages the team.”
