Croatia is one of the youngest teams at the Euro 2024 Championships. Despite being young, they have been very successful in a limited time. They have been successfully qualifying for the Euros since 1996, except in 2000. In 1996 and 2008, they qualified for the quarter-finals.
Their recent win against Portugal came as a surprise to many, despite struggling at the group stages. Now, they will be eager to maintain that momentum in the Euro group stages so that they can qualify for the next stage.
Zlatko Dalic, the Croatian Coach, announced his 26-man team with notable figures from his team missing for the upcoming Euro 2024. 57-year-old coach Dalic omitted Lyon defender Duje Caleta-Car and winger Josip Brekalo.
Their veteran captain Luka Modric, who is likely playing his last major football tournament before retiring from the international scene of football, will lead the team.

Vida and Gvardiol are the expected vital players at the back for Croatia. Stanisic and Juranovic will support them at the flanks.
Stanisic is a player to look out for, with 16 caps to his name. He joined Leverkusen on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.
Even though Caleta-Car will be missing from the squad, Sosa is another talented player at the back who will give the much-needed support if needed.

Team Croatia Midfielders

The midfield is Croatia’s strong point. It has been that way for years now. Led by their captain Luka Modric, Marcelo Brozovic, and Mateo Kovacic they make it very hard to get into the midfield. As a trio, they have more than 350 appearances for their national team.
Modric has a history of successfully leading his team, and we anticipate the same this time. With over 170 caps, the 38-year-old led his national team Croatia to a historic finish at the 2018 World Cup Competition where they finished second.
In addition, he led his team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they finished in third place, and last year they lost to Spain in the Nation’s League Final.
