Euro 2024: Team Germany Profile

Germany

The host team Germany is ready for another battle, after getting suppressed brutally by other teams, this time around they might think to bring on some vital changes. After the failure of both coaches Joachim Low and Hansi Flick, the current German manager Julian Nagelsmann eyeing to even the odds.

With the amount of pressure on the home team, Germany looks forward to giving their preference to the young blood. Even though in the current edition of Euros 2024 many star-studded and emerging young players are looking forward to competing with the best teams in a difficult situation.

The German National team had enough of losing against the smaller and bigger teams since 2016. This might be the turning pace of events for the Deutschland and the restoration of the former glory could be ignited again. Germany’s 3 Euros trophy might get another company if they decide to use the talent valiantly.

The mighty German squad will face Scotland on 15th June, Hungary on 19th June, and Switzerland on 24th June. The last few games have been unexpectedly bland from Germany. Winning 2-1 against Greece, and drawing against Ukraine to set an ironic example to their potential opponents.

Germany’s coach Julian Nagelsmann can’t afford to set up this team like the previous two managers had taken over before him. The main concern for Germany is to find the most relevant striker and a typical proper finisher to win the game. They have been on the edge of victory almost every time they face a decent team.

Goalkeepers

The “Sweeper-keeper” Manuel Neuer has been consistent in his form. He has even won the World Cup back in 2014. Besides the German “Goat” Keeper, Marc Andre Ter Stegen of Barcelona will be a top consideration for the goalkeeping lineup as well. Oliver Baumann of Hoffenheim might have to wait for his spot despite being good.

Defenders

As for the defenders Antonio Rudiger who had a blast this season, winning La Liga and the Champions League for Real Madrid, will start in the defending lineup as a center-back, alongside Jonathan Tah also as a center-back.

Joshua Kimmich is a right back with the German discipline and the in from brilliance. On the left back Maximillian Mittelstadt of Stuttgart has a lot to prove with his tackling and ball interception skills that might become handy for the squad.

Midfielders

For the leading midfielders, Toni Kroos is back with a bang to play once again for Germany. This might be his last International league for Germany. Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich had a great run for his club, his ball control, footwork, and composure might put him to the test.

Florian Writz who is the trending player from Bayer Leverkusen, won the current Bundesliga without even breaking a sweat, and DFB Pokal. Alongside him, Ilkay Gundogan of Barcelona who has an extensive amount of knowledge and experience might put him in a central position and control the tempo of the game.

Pascal Gross on the other hand who can play as a defensive midfield can make a bigger impact on the game. Robert Andrich can hold the position and can play a bigger role in attack and defense as well.

Attackers

https://gty.im/2155947081

The attacking side of the team is somehow in a skeptical position to even consider as a decent attack. From a  Premier League runner-up team Arsenal, Kai Havertz has taken a lot of responsibility and pressure on his shoulders.

As a backup striker, Niclas Fullkrug can be used as a Plan B, as his best individual performance throughout the whole campaign of the Champions League.

Absentees

https://gty.im/2155177076

Few players have been absent for the Euros, even though they had their best performance this season. Karim Adeyemi, Julian Brandt, Serge Gnabry, Timo Werner, and lastly Mats Hummels. Hummels had an excellent season in the Champions League, he even pocketed the likes of Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

Formations

https://gty.im/2156563075

The typical formation for Germany could be 4-2-3-1. Julian Nagelsmann has used this formation for the past few games. Otherwise, the other formation could be 4-2-2-2 which can determine the power and balance of the midfield.
