ESPN Continues To Neglect 2024 NBA Finals With Barrage of LeBron James Segments

ESPN First Take’s coverage of the 2024 NBA Finals has been a bit off lately. They’re focusing on very random LeBron James topics rather than focusing more on the different storylines of the NBA Finals.

Some of their segments in the past few weeks have been “LeBron Unfollows Big Perk [Kendrick Perkins] On Social Media,” “Does LeBron Make Lakers Job More or Less Enticing,” “LeBron Is A Great Husband, Great Father, Generous Philanthropist,” and “Who Is Best Running Mate LeBron Has Had In His Career?” Reporting on an athlete unfollowing another athlete is a sign of a slow day at the office.

Honestly, what is ESPN doing? They should focus more on the players and teams in the finals or teams that are playing in different sports. These segments could be covered in the official offseason, not while the championship series is going.

What’s Going On In The 2024 NBA Finals?

Boston Celtics Al Horford NBA Finals

Right now, the Boston Celtics are up on the Dallas Mavericks 2-0 in the NBA Finals. Game 1 was a snoozefest, and game 2 was much more competitive. With Porzingis suffering another calf injury, there’s hope that the Dallas Mavericks could turn the tide and win the finals. The Mavs could be the newest team to come back from a 0-2 deficit since the 2021 Milwaukee Bucks.

An Interesting 2024 Finals MVP Talk That’s Better Than Discussing LeBron James’s Best Teammate

There is an interesting conversation about who would be the Finals MVP if Boston wins. Some people are arguing for either Jaylen Brown or Jrue Holiday. They have had solid stats through the first 2 games. Jrue is averaging 19 points and 9.5 rebounds. Not to mention, Jaylen Brown is averaging 21-5-5, while Jayson Tatum is averaging 27-10-8.5 in the finals.

Luka is second in the NBA Finals MVP ranking, but it’s a long shot for him to possibly be the first Finals MVP since Jerry West to win the honor on a losing team if Dallas loses. If the Mavericks win the 2024 NBA Finals, Luka would easily be the MVP from that squad.

What Else Is Going On In Sports Asides From LeBron James?

LeBron James

What else is going on outside of LeBron James being a fantastic father and husband? We all know this already from how he carries himself in the public eye and how he raises his children.

ESPN should discuss A’ja Wilson‘s play this season. Although the Las Vegas Aces are having a rocky season, she has been putting up 2000 Shaq numbers. She’s averaging roughly 29 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks off 50% shooting from the field!

Plus, the WNBA has other great rookies not named Caitlin Clark, such as Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso, and more who are putting on for the league. Plus, the Connecticut Sun is having an amazing season right now, as they’re 10-1 after starting the season 9-0.

Gervonta “Tank” Davis and David Benavidez, two of the top ten pound-for-pound fighters right now, are boxing on the same card in respective fights on June 15th.

The MLB seasons are long, and some people only care about it when the postseason arrives. However, their All-Star game is coming up on July 16th. There should be some coverage on who should be in the All-Star game, right?

ESPN is known to cover a wide variety of sports and sports news. However, we don’t care about LeBron’s impact on the vacant Lakers coaching job. Most people are more interested if he stays with them or goes to whatever team his son gets drafted by. If Bronny gets drafted by this year of course.
