This season of the Champions League has had a total of 368 goals scored in 121 matches played so far. 32 of these goals were scored in the four games of the quarter-finals, compared to the 36 goals scored in the eight games of the Round of 16.
Until Cristiano Ronaldo scored 17 goals in the 2013–14 season for Real Madrid, the highest number of goals scored in a single season was 14 goals by José Altafini and Lionel Messi in the 1962–63 and 2011–12 seasons for AC Milan and Barcelona respectively.
Since the UEFA Champions League was founded 69 years ago in 1955, it has only had two players score 100+ goals: Cristiano Ronaldo (140) and Lionel Messi (129).

Harry Kane has scored eight goals and given three assists in 11 games for Bayern Munich this season in the Champions League.
Until 2023, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard had been the Englishmen who had had the most goals and assists contributions in a single season (10). David Beckham scored two goals and eight assists in the 1998-99 season and Steven Gerrard scored six goals and four assists in the 2007-08 season. Manchester United won the competition in both of these seasons.
Harry Kane equaled this record this season when he scored the penalty in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium. That made it seven goals and three assists. With the penalty against Real Madrid in the 54th minute, he broke the record and set a new one. He’s now the only Englishman to be involved in 11 goals in one single Champions League season with eight goals and three assists.

Of the top 10 highest goal scorers in the Champions League, Kylian Mbappe (8), Harry Kane (8), Vinicius Jr. (5), and Rodrygo (5) are the only players left in the competition.
This season, Harry Kane scored once against Manchester United in a 4-3 victory in the Allianz Arena, once away to Galatasaray in a 3-1 win, and two goals in the return leg. His next goal came in the Round of 16 second-leg game against Lazio. He scored the first and the last of three Bayern goals that night.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has also scored two braces this season. They can against two Spanish clubs in the knockout stages: Real Sociedad and Barcelona. Both were scored away from home in the second leg of the ties. He’s also scored against Borussia Dortmund, PSG’s next opponent in the tournament, AC Milan, Newcastle, and the first leg of the tie against Real Sociedad.
If Bayern and PSG succeed in eliminating Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund respectively from the competition, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe will challenge each other in the final for both the trophy and the Golden Boot.

In the 69 years the Champions League has been played, Real Madrid has featured in 43 seasons and won the trophy 14 times. This is double the number of times the next team with the most trophies, Italy’s AC Milan, has accumulated.
Within this period, Real Madrid has played, drawn, and lost the most number of games of any team to have featured in the competition. They’re also the only club to score more than 1,000 goals in the competition.
A former Real Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has scored the most number of goals in the most number of games played (187). Among the 140 goals he scored in the competition, 19 of them have been from the penalty spot. He has also given the most assists (42). Behind him is Lionel Messi with 40 assists.
