Edge is still in the dark as to whether he will be stepping back into the wrestling ring after a major accident. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, he talked about his current health status after he broke his leg in the middle of a match in May. This injury occurred during a barbed wire steel cage match against Malakai Black at AEW Double or Nothing.
Edge, in a high-risk maneuver, jumped off the top of the cage attempting a dramatic move, which resulted in him breaking his tibia. This has been estimated to be about three months since he had the surgery done to him on June 1st.
Current Condition and Recovery Process
According to Edge, he is recovering though it will take time to get back to ring. He thinks that it feels very similar to the injury that sidelined him earlier this year with an Achilles issue, but this is not the same. He also had to spend a lot of time and effort to recover from his Achilles. At the same time, the process of his leg’s recovery is not depicted as extremely painful but rather difficult.
For this, he mentioned that a plate was placed on his leg to facilitate the healing process. The plate was placed because the fracture was in the lower tibia which goes down to the ankle. This placement is now slowing down his last phase of therapy since he has some issues in regaining mobility and strength.
Edge’s Uncertain Timeline for Return
At the moment there is no line of when he will be back in wrestling. According to his perspective although he can walk and move around the ring to some extent he still feels that there is a lack. He thinks, there is still more effort as a ball is suspended before the bully is complete and his play to the performance level would take some time.
Still, Edge decides not to lose hope and tries to recover as soon as possible. Despite some current limitations, he is focused on regaining full muscle and joint function and is fully committed to his physical therapy. His colleagues and followers especially those who follow wrestling events are waiting for him to come back but for now, he is taking the progression a step at a time by ensuring he regains his health fully before going back on the floor.
In Conclusion
As for the current situation, there’s good news in the outlook of Edge who has recovered from his broken leg but still has no idea when he’ll be back to perform. Nevertheless, his rehabilitation process is still far from being completed, but he is trying to do everything meticulously. He is preoccupied with getting himself fit for action where flexibility is of paramount importance when attempting comebacks.
People on the fan level and the wrestling fraternity are firmly behind him as he still battles his way to fitness, he is warmly anticipated. When he will finally be able to return to the wrestling world, for now, dependent on his health and commitment to getting back in shape.
