Mastering the Yorker
Bravo threw a spotlight on the Yorker as the ultimate defense of the pacers in the shorter formats. Stressing that the formula for continued dominance stands on the ability of a bowler to bowl really good yorkers. He focused on the suit of yorkers by bowlers who brought in an identifiable way in T20 cricket and regards himself as well as Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, and Matheesha Pathirana, among others.
“Yorker is non-negotiable. To lift the title like others, bowlers should ideally bowl 3–4 no-balls at the wicket. Players that have excelled in all T20 arenas—Bumrah, Malinga, or myself as I was playing—had variations, with the same agenda of keeping the lower end of batting at bay,” said Pathirana.
