Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott said on Tuesday that it has been a great decision of the board to appoint Dwayne Bravo as the bowling coach for the T20 World Cup.
Trott also acknowledges that due to Bravo’s exposure in franchise cricket, he has had a great influence on the manner the Afghanistan bowlers go about their business, noting that this made his work easier and generally justifying the need to hire a foreign coaching team.
Dwayne Bravo’s Inclusion as Bowling Coach: A Brilliant Move
In their opening match, Afghanistan displayed remarkable bowling skills as left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi took an outstanding 5/9. Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (76) and debutant Usman Ghani (70) provided a strong start with the bat. Ultimately, the Afghans triumphed over tournament newcomers Uganda by a significant margin of 125 runs.
“Having DJ (Dwayne Bravo) join the team is fantastic. It’s great to have quality coaches with extensive playing experience and vast franchise knowledge in this game format by Dwayne,” Trott commented during the post-match press conference.
It’s not only that,” he added, In a globally interconnected world filled with social and technological networks of different types, this work means a lot. They describe it as being quite similar to having him coming to the side as a coach making your task convenient but at the same time making it even more advantageous while coaching especially with the bowlers.

There must be a certain level of nervousness when a team begins its first-ever T20 World Cup match, said Masaba, adding that his charges showed heart in facing the Afghan side that packs powerful punches.
