Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are set to play in the second leg of a quarterfinal Champions League match.
Today’s home team suffered a disappointing 2-to-1 defeat to the Spaniards in the first leg. Sebastien Haller scored the lone goal in the 81st minute, but it proved to not be enough. Niclas Fullkrug started up top but was subbed off in the second half to make way for the eventual goal scorer up top. Gregor Kobel started in net and had seven saves.
Meanwhile, the Spaniards saw Rodrigo De Paul and Samuel Lino each find the back of the net. They were able to hold on as Jose María Gimenez anchored the back line but picked up a yellow card. Jan Oblak started in goal and had three saves.

The Germans finished at the top of Group F. They have been stellar in defense, as in group play they only allowed four goals. But they also managed to score two goals in their last home game against a different Champions League opponent, PSV Eindhoven. But as stated, the back line, overall defensive shape, and tactics of this side are what this club is going to hang their hopes on.
Mats Hummels continues to be an essential part of this defense and has even made nine appearances so far in the tournament. Marco Reus and Karim Adeyemi have each scored two goals throughout the competition. on to lead Borussia Dortmund. Marcel Sabitzer is the leading assist man with three.
Atletico Madrid
The Spaniards finished first in Group E. In group play, they weren’t as good in defense, as they allowed six total goals. However, moving forward, they were better in the attack. They managed to score 17 goals. Also, they advanced on away goals after being tied 2-2 against Inter Milan to make it to this stage.
Antoine Griezmann has found the back of the net six times. Alvaro Morata is closely behind with five goals himself. Finally, Nahuel Molina and Samuel Lino have each provided three assists for their team during Champions League play.
