Detroit Tigers Tarik Skubal With Memorable Day On Sunday Afternoon

Detroit Tigers Starting Pitcher Tarik Skubal made history on Sunday.

Detroit Tigers Starting Pitcher Tarik Skubal had a career day on Sunday afternoon on the road against the Cincinnati Reds. Skubal surrendered one earned run over seven innings of work while striking out a career-high 13 batters. Skubal struck out 12 batters earlier this season on May 5 on the road against the vaunted New York Yankees. A strong performance from Slubal helped the Detroit Tigers win 5-1 and take all three games of their series against the Reds. Skubal had two or more punchouts in five of his seven innings today.

Infielder Zach McKinstry led the way with three RBI this afternoon for the Tigers offense. A few hours after his historic day, the veteran lefty, Skubal, was named to his first MLB All-Star Game. He will be one of the pitchers for the American League in the July 16 “Midsummer Classic” held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Skubal is 10-3 this season with an ERA OF 2.37. He is tied for fourth in the league in wins, fourth in ERA, fifth in strikeouts, and leads all of Major League Baseball in WHIP. Will Skubal be able to continue his great 2024 campaign?

Tarik Skubal Career Summary

Skubal made his Major League debut in 2020. He has spent the entirety of his career as a member of the Detroit Tigers. He had a solid first three years in the league but came into his own last season. Skubal would have finished fourth in the league last season with an ERA of 2.80 but failed to qualify due to the fact he only made 15 starts. Skubal has a career record of 33-30 with an ERA of 3.53.
