Detroit Lions Frank Ragnow Reiterates Stance On Retirement Ahead Of 2024 Season

Detroit Lions Frank Ragnow

The Detroit Lions have had one of the most exciting offenses in the league for the past few seasons. While it is easy to focus on the play of Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jahmyr Gibbs, it has been the play of an elite offensive line that has made the offense work. They have five Pro Bowl-caliber players on the line. One of those players is center Frank Ragnow. For the past few seasons, he has been dealing with a toe injury but has played through it. Because of the nature of the injury, he gets asked about retirement a lot. The 27-year-old reiterated his stance on retirement in a recent interview.

Don’t worry, Detroit Lions fans. Frank Ragnow isn’t going anywhere. The rumors started to swirl after the loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game when he said this.

“I need to find a way to get back to Frank and I don’t regret any of this at all, but it weighs on you. And I’m just going to take some time and really figure everything out to make sure that I’m feeling good, not only for me the football player but for me to be the best husband and best father and everything with that as well.”

During a charity event in Detroit, Ragnow was asked about those words and reiterated that he is planning to play for a while.

“I was frustrated. It was kind of annoying. All I said was I’m going to need some time to heal up the day after the game. That was my intention and then it took off, which was kind of annoying, but it is what it is.”

“I feel really good. I feel as good as I’ve felt in a while. This has been my best offseason, 100%. I really dove into a lot of things to take care of my body and I feel like I’m clicking right now. The goal is to keep it a steady trajectory into the season.”

Frank Ragnow has been healing up this season and is ready to begin another quest to end the Super Bowl drought of this historic franchise.

Can The Lions Repeat Last Year’s Success?

The Detroit Lions have spent the offseason locking up their most important players. Penei Sewell, St. Brown, and Goff have all gotten massive deals. They made some small upgrades around the roster and overhauled the secondary. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is back for another year, and this team will be one of the favorites in the NFC. It is hard to see where the Lions got worse, and if Frank Ragnow is healthy, the offensive line will dominate games.

The time is now for the Detroit Lions. They have all the pieces to make a deep playoff run and are in the easier of the two conferences. Can the Lions finally break through and get to their first-ever Super Bowl?
