The Denver Nuggets are the defending NBA Champions. But they would welcome more help. However, they sit in a strong fourth-place spot in the Western Conference at the moment. Additionally, we saw a potential new source of aid during All-Star Weekend. The break celebrates the game of basketball. The host city sets it up to be the intended purpose of the weekend. However, it also provides an opportunity for friends throughout the league to catch up and hang out in a less stressful environment.
Tampering rules are in place. But fans see each engagement as something to potentially keep on notice for. Therefore, fans scrutinize small discussions or interactions during the week. And although the reigning champions look strong enough to compete again, one future duo looks primed for a potential regular season run.
Is the All-Star Weekend just a way to attempt to attract players to your team?
Denver Nuggets New Tandem?
Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks get along. But the All-Star Weekend saw the two enjoying each other’s company. Nothing is necessarily wrong with that. But “The Joker” removed any doubt or speculation.
The Serbian player shared with reporters how much he hopes the Slovenian links up with him in the Mile-High city:
I don’t want to leave Denver… If Luka gets pissed off in Dallas, he can come (To Denver).
There are two big things to take from this statement. Firstly, he enjoys and respects Doncic and his abilities. The European players have a better feel for the general team game. Especially compared to a lot of isolation players who rose through the college ranks, they would prefer playing with a European-style basketball teammate than not. Additionally, linking up with Doncic would instantly make the Denver Nuggets favorites for years to come. But there is another key takeaway.
Denver Nuggets Future With Jokic Clarified
Moreover, Jokic wants to stay in Denver! He continues to make it clear how much he enjoys playing for the Nuggets and isn’t likely to seek a move. Even if superstars can change their minds, he seems steadfast. This assures the fan base and management that he won’t look to use his leverage to demand a sudden change.

Instead, he’s hoping to bring other talent into the Denver Nuggets fold with him. A lethal due of Doncic and Jokic would run the West for a long time. It’s also worth noting that this pairing would ease a lot of offensive pressure off each other. Instead of needing triple-doubles to get wins, they would be able to take turns dominating the game.
Moreover, not needing to be the highest-scoring offensive player on a lot of nights would ease their regular season wear and tear.
Denver Nuggets Reality
This team has a great core. Jamal Murray is a top-tier guard. His main issue comes with availability issues. They also have Aaron Gordon. Since coming from the Orlando Magic, he fits in well into this system. But the biggest rise has come from Michael Porter Jr., a Missouri Tigers college product. He proved his worth in their championship run.

But adding Doncic to the Denver Nuggets would be a great addition, that wouldn’t clash or collide with the current roster. Although acquiring him for Murray wouldn’t be a terrible switch, they could also make it work with all three players.
