Denver Broncos Tyler Badie Suffers Gruesome Injury vs. New York Jets

Tyler Badie, Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are the midst of their Week 4 game against the New York Jets, but will be without young running back Tyler Badie. He suffered a back injury in the first half of the game and has now been ruled out. It was a scary situation as he was taken off the sidelines on a stretcher and carted off. We will continue to monitor the situation but the Denver Broncos have ruled this a back injury and will not be returning to the field.

What happened to Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie?

The Denver Broncos offense has been unable to get going in this game. Tyler Badie would catch a pass from rookie quarterback Bo Nix for -3 yards and fumble the football on the hit by New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams. The play looked like nothing but when Badie got to the sidelines, he would be shown on the floor and receiving medical attention.

The Denver Broncos running back was hit in the back by the helmet and shoulder of Williams but the ball was stripped by the hands. The hit was clean and things looked well but when Badie made it to the sidelines, things took a turn for the worse. The fact that Badie would not be ruled with a head or neck injury is a bit of a good sign and the CBS broadcast did mention that he was moving his extremities.

Tyler Badie has not been involved too much in the offense this season as the 2022 sixth-round pick out of Missouri has 11 carries for 86 yards and three catches for -2 yards. One good sign is that the Denver Broncos initially ruled him as questionable to return before officially ruling him out. This is going to be a bit of a blow for the Broncos offense, that has not been able to get things going in the first quarter of the NFL season.
