The New York Jets have been one of the teams featured in the Davante Adams’ sweepstakes and on Tuesday morning, less than 12 hours after their heartbreaking loss to the Buffalo Bills, they have finally completed the trade. Davante Adams & the New York Jets
The New York Jets have gone all in after losing to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football by trading for wide receiver Davante Adams. Adams reportedly took a red-eye flight to East Rutherford, New Jersey to complete the physical and get this trade official. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Las Vegas Raiders will receive a conditional 2025 third-round pick as compensation and are not paying any of Davante Adams’ salary down in this deal.
The conditions on the pick are if Adams is named a first-or-second team All-Pro or if he is on the roster for the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl, the third-round pick would elevate to a second. This is something that could really open up the New York Jets offense after seeing Aaron Rodgers have his best game with the team, throwing for 294 yards and two touchdowns. Davante Adams has three years remaining on his contract but has a potential out after this season. Below is the breakdown of Davante Adams’ salary with the New York Jets:
- 2024: $11.26 million (Las Vegas paid some already this season)
- 2025: $35.64 million
- 2026: $35.64 million
