The Dallas Wings have had a brutal season thus far. After snapping a three-game losing streak to improve to 5-16, the team has dropped six of its last seven contests. This includes back-to-back defeats at the hands of the New York Liberty. Arike Ogunbowale led a quartet of starters who scored in double figures in the recent eight-point loss to New York on Thursday night. She finished with 19 points (7-18 FG, 2-9 3PT), eight assists, and six rebounds.
Natasha Howard had 16 points and eight boards, while Teaira McCowan contributed 14 points and eight rebounds. The Wings trailed by four points heading into the final frame and trimmed the deficit to one point twice in the fourth quarter. However, a late 9-2 run by the Liberty allowed the Liberty to win their eighth straight game.
Los Angeles Sparks
On the other end of this WNBA matchup, the Sparks were 6-17 through their first 23 games. Unfortunately, things have not improved as the team enters this Western Conference tilt amid a six-game losing skid. In their recent 80-74 loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday night, Rickea Jackson was the lone bright spot for Los Angeles. She led the way with 17 points and three assists on 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Los Angeles trailed 55-54 going into the fourth quarter. Washington opened the period with a 10-burst before the Sparks cut the lead to six points. Unfortunately, they would not get any closer the rest of the way.

Dallas Wings
One of the under-the-radar players to watch for Dallas is Jacy Sheldon. The rookie guard is averaging 5.6 points per contest in her first WNBA season. At the same time, she has produced two double-digit outings in her last four outings. She is also a player who can spread the floor, considering she boasts a 37.7 percent conversion rate from distance.
Los Angeles Sparks
Crystal Dangerfield is the player to watch for Los Angeles. The team recently signed her for the rest of the season following a series of seven-day contracts. She has played eight games for the Sparks this season, averaging 3.3 points per outing. Despite the modest scoring average, she has already had a couple of bright moments since her arrival. She scored 11 points and handed out six assists against the Chicago Sky on Aug 17. In the team’s next outing against the Las Vegas Aces, Dangerfield finished with nine points and three rebounds. If she continues to give the team valuable minutes, she could be part of the team’s long-term plans moving forward.
