Dallas Mavericks Jerseys Are In Sixth-Highest Demand

The Dallas Mavericks are one of the NBA's most popular teams.

The Dallas Mavericks’ jerseys are in the sixth-highest demand among the top ten NBA teams by jersey interest. Yardbarker recently released a new study showing that the Mavericks are a popular NBA team. The Mavericks’ international effect has been in full force since the Dirk Nowitzki era and now Luka Doncic.

According to Yardbarker’s data, Dallas cracked the top ten most popular NBA jerseys. There have been 147,370 searches related to Mavericks jerseys — only five NBA teams had more in-demand jerseys than this NBA team. Read on for further details.

Dallas Mavericks’ Ranking

The Dallas Mavericks ranked sixth in Yardbarker’s top ten most in-demand NBA jerseys. The Mavericks trailed the New York Knicks, who had 187,900 searches, the Chicago Bulls, who had 215,150, the Miami Heat, who had 220,890, the Boston Celtics, who had 376,520, and the Los Angeles Lakers, who topped the list with 647,870.

The Lakers’ No. 1 ranking shouldn’t be a surprise, as the Lakers are an iconic sports franchise in the United States and beyond. Then and now, many players and fans have worn the team’s purple and gold around the world.

The Mavericks’ No. 6 ranking put the team ahead of the Golden State Warriors, who had 141,680 searches, the Oklahoma City Thunder, who had 136,090, the Brooklyn Nets, who had 129,560, and the Minnesota Timberwolves, who wrapped up the list with 124,070.

Dallas Mavericks Rise in Popularity

The Dallas Mavericks rose in popularity, thanks to former German Power Forward Dirk Nowitzki and current Slovenian Point Guard Luka Doncic, since 1998. The Mavericks’ roster has been more diverse in the NBA for nearly three decades.

The Mavericks welcomed thousands of international travelers to watch the team’s NBA Finals games against the Boston Celtics last postseason. Foreign-born players like Nowitzki and Doncic provide significant value to the league as international superstars.

Speaking of Boston, the Celtics’ No. 2 ranking shouldn’t be a surprise. Celtics fans are extremely passionate. Many people have worn green and white over the years. Last season’s NBA Finals appearance — and championship win — only boosted the Celtics’ jersey sales and searches.

Next Steps for Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks’ next steps should start with reducing — and ending — the lengthy injury report. The Mavericks arguably can’t achieve success with a short-handed team. The Mavericks’ decision to start Daniel Gafford at center to start the 2024-25 NBA season was understandable, as Gafford served as a starting center in the team’s NBA Finals games and proved that he can anchor a starting unit.

Dereck Lively II is currently dealing with a right shoulder strain. It’s unclear when Lively II will start at center this season. But Lively II’s slight edge over Gafford with a net rating of +4.4 per 100 possessions makes him a better starter.

The Mavericks should search for a primary sixth man. The Mavericks’ struggle to find a consistent scorer off the bench has been obvious, especially in the 108-102 to the Houston Rockets. In that game, no bench player scored more than six points.
