Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Micah Parsons made history on the first drive of today’s game on the road against the Washington Commanders. He became the 4th player in league history to record 10+ sacks in each of his first 4 seasons. He joined all-time greats Reggie White, Derrick Thomas, and Dwight Freeney as the only other defensive players with such a strong start to their careers. Parsons would muster a second sack on the opening drive to have 12 sacks at the time of publication.
It has been a down season for the star defensive player as he missed four games earlier this season with a high ankle sprain. He has been one of the lone bright spots for a Dallas Cowboys team that fell short of expectations this season. Will Parsons be able to put up 10+ sacks next season as well?

Parsons is set to break the bank for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. He is reportedly eyeing a long-term contract with the team that will make him the highest-paid defensive player in the league. The title of highest-paid defensive player currently belongs to San Francisco 49ers Defensive End Nick Bosa. He signed a five-year $170 million deal with the franchise in September 2023. Parsons will use this contract as a blueprint heading into negotiations during the offseason.
Final Thoughts
Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones has shown a willingness to pass his star players, but he will wait until the last moment to do so. He signed Quarterback Dak Prescott on the first day of the regular season and Wide Receiver CeeDeee Lamb a few weeks before the regular season kicked off. On the heels of another great regular season, Parsons has continued to stake his claim as the best defensive player in the National Football League. He will look to continue making history as his career progresses.
