Cristiano Ronaldo Disrupts Man Utd Rebuild? Star Player Targeted for Al Nassr Move

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been in touch with Manchester United’s Casemiro about a possible transfer, as per Marca. The Spanish outlet also claims that Real Madrid’s Nacho Fernandez has been contacted by Ronaldo. In an attempt to overcome this latest setback and make up for a trophy-less season in the Middle East, Ronaldo is reportedly planning to approach his former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid for reinforcements.

Casemiro, whose current deal at Old Trafford runs until June 2026, has had a challenging season despite making 32 appearances for United in all competitions. His performances have sometimes seemed lackluster, particularly in the fast-paced Premier League, and he was notably absent from United’s thrilling 2-1  FA Cup final win.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes Manchester United transfer request after breaking down in tears

Cristiano Ronaldo was left in tears after Al-Nassr’s defeat to Al-Hilal on penalties in the King Cup of Champions final on Friday night. The loss confirmed that his second season in Saudi Arabia would end without any silverware. Ronaldo’s second stint in Saudi has been marked by disappointment, with the chaotic Saudi Cup final – featuring three red cards and a penalty shoot-out – encapsulating the emotional turmoil that has characterized the team this year.

Despite scoring his side’s second penalty with typical confidence – following former Manchester United star Alex Telles‘ miss – Ronaldo could not prevent Nassr’s defeat. All but two takers for Hilal converted their penalties, with Telles’ miss ensuring Nassr’s loss.

Cristiano Ronaldo intervenes with huge Man Utd transfer On

Ronaldo is understood to have personally called Nacho over the past few days when the 34-year-old captained Real Madrid to their 15th European Cup/Champions League title on Saturday. However, the Spanish center-half is out of contract this summer and will part ways with his boyhood club at the end of June.

A move to MLS had been floated, though Marca suggests the market for defenders isn’t as lucrative in America as it is for flair players. As such, a reunion with Ronaldo and potentially Casemiro too at Al-Nassr could be on the cards.

On Friday Al-Nassr met Al-Hilal in a chaotic final of the King’s Cup, a 32-team knockout competition comprising teams from the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi First Division.

Al-Nassr started the stronger of the two sides, but it was league champions Al-Hilal that took the lead when former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic headed past ex-Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina.
