The Portuguese star said in his podcast with Rio Ferdinand: “Soon I will do 900 and, after, I will beat 1,000. I want to reach 1,000 goals. If I don’t have injuries, this, for me, is the most important. I want that. It’s the best marker I can have in football. There will be one difference: all of my goals have videos, so I can prove that.”

Rio Ferdinand hearing burst into laughter, and he said: “You’re a b*****d. You’re talking about Alfredo Di Stefano, Pele, Eusebio.” Cristiano Ronaldo however chose not to answer and he continued on the joke saying: “If you want more goals, I can bring them from training too.”

Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand on Nani

“Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand shared a fun conversation about their former teammate Nani. The 3 all played for 3 years from 2007 down to 2009. The two joked about how Nani used to cry after losing games. Manchester United’s 3-1 loss at Liverpool in 2011.

Ferdinand said: “Do you remember when Nani used to cry? We’d slap him,”. Cristiano Ronaldo laughed while nodding to concur with Ferdinand. The Ex-Man United defender continued’’”He used to cry, man. Anderson [as well] flipping hell,” Ronaldo replied saying “Yes.”

Ferdinand on Nani’s Quality

Ferdinand moved on to talking about how good Nani was especially with the ball, however, he highlighted the ex-Manchester United star’s inconsistency as his challenge. He said: “I’ve never seen a player hit the ball as clean with both feet, as powerful and as hard as Nani. [His] sheer power was mad. The thing that I think Nani lacked, was a good professional, he didn’t drink a lot,”

He continued: “But there was something that stopped him from having ultimate consistency. He could hit five shots and two could be on target, two could be way off it or two may go close. It was hard for him to find that consistency compared to [Wayne] Rooney or Ronaldo, that’s what set him [back].”

Nani’s had 230 appearances, with 41 goals and 70 assists at Manchester United.
