Brazil looks strong heading into the next Copa America, though they will be without several key players. Casemiro is one of the big names missing out on a place. With 75 caps for Brazil, the Manchester United midfielder has had a tough season and was left out of the squad. Another absentee is Richarlison, a Spurs striker who was the highest scorer for the Selecao at the 2022 World Cup.
Brazil faces a lot of pressure as their goal is to take home the trophy and win the championship this time. They have a fantastic mix of experienced and fresh players, with Dorival Junior leading the selection of the squad that will represent Brazil in Copa America this summer.
Team Brazil Defenders For The Copa America
Among the players to keep an eye on the Brazil team are the defenders, who will be responsible for preventing the ball from going through the net. They would want to ensure what happened against Croatia in the World Cup never happens again.
Eder Militao who recently added a Champions League to his trophy cabinet will be at the heart of the Brazillian defence. Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhães, PSG’s Marquinhos, and Bremer who plays for Juventus are major parts of this squad because of the experience they bring. Wendell and Guilherme Arana will battle it out at left-back. Girona’s Yan Couto and Juventus man Danilo will look to pace up and down the right side of the Brazillian defense.
Though Brazil is known for flair and skillful attacking football rather than defensive football, their defense has to be concentrated at all stages to ensure they win the Copa America.
Team Brazil Midfielders
Dorival Junior has chosen only midfielders from the English Premier League to battle in the middle of the pitch. With his selections, has a lot of formations to select from for the Copa America. He can go with a pivot of Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz. Then he can select either of Andreas Pereira who plays for Fulham or Lucas Paqueta who plays for West Ham.
He can also go with a flat midfield three and field either Bruno Guimarães or Douglas Luiz in the heart of the midfield. Then he could pair up Andreas Pereira and Lucas Paqueta. Another Premier League midfielder who could feature in the Brazil squad for the Copa America is Joao Gomes who plays for Wolves.
Team Brazil Attackers
Selecao has one of the most exciting, energetic, pacy, silky, and entertaining attacks in world football. Vinicius Junior is anticipated to step up and be the key man in Brazil’s attack, as top scorer Neymar is still recovering from a knee ligament injury received while playing for Brazil last October. His club side teammate Rodrygo is also in the Copa America squad, and Dorival Junior will need them to bring their Real Madrid mentality to the Brazilian squad.
Seventeen-year-old Endrick, who is set to leave Palmerias for Real Madrid in July also got a call-up. Other La Liga players in Brazil’s attack include Raphina who plays for Barcelona, and Savinho who plays for Girona. Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli also got a call-up as well as Evanilson who plays for Porto.
