Conor McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in the previous UFC card but he didn’t join because of his injury. Conor McGregor has been out of the Octagon for a long time as it has been three years since the fans have seen him. Michael Chandler has been waiting for ‘The Notorious'” to return and fight him and show his dominance, and he has denied several fights against other fighters.
Now McGregor and Chandler both are adamant that they want to fight in December. So Dana White will try his level best to arrange their fight as soon as possible if Conor McGregor does not back off like before. Will it happen?
Dana White Clarifies the Situation
Michael Chandler is getting impatient to fight Conor McGregor who has not fought for a few years. It appeared as though McGregor was ready to come back in June but due to a pinky toe injury, he was again sidelined. Chandler did not like this at all. Last year, UFC President Dana White hinted that McGregor may not compete until 2025, which has made both Chandler and McGregor push the UFC to make the fight happen. Both desire the fight but other fighters continue to impose themselves in the middle.
Dan Hooker Is Center Of Attention
UFC lightweight contender from New Zealand, Dan Hooker, has been a notable entity with some of his recent fights. Hooker doesn’t seem to mind that McGregor is preoccupied with his fight against Chandler. Dan Hooker shared the smart option, by saying:
“I feel like it’s a smart option, you know what I mean? Are you gonna fight a guy [himself] in the top five on a three-fight win streak or are you gonna fight a guy Michael Chandler, the person not in the top five and coming off a loss? So, I just feel like, because I’ve been staying active and I’ve been fighting the best guys in the world, that he has more to gain from fighting me than he does from Chandler.”
To Hooker, fighting Conor McGregor is something that looks like a dream. He thinks it could be premature for him to challenge the Irishman. At the same time, Conor McGregor and Chandler are not yet tired of teasing Dana White to hold a fight in December. However, the UFC CEO is still reluctant to formalize the event.

Hooker has a different point of view on the upcoming possible fight. However, Conor McGregor is often seen partying and enjoying instead of training hard like other fighters.
