Conor McGregor has fought and lost to the famous boxing champion Floyd Mayweather but has again shown interest in a boxing match against the famous WWE Superstar Logan Paul. Many UFC fans claim that the UFC fighters are not paid enough and should be paid more like Boxers.
But for now, UFC CEO and president Dana White has rejected these claims and is adamant that he spends much more than any other fighting organization and provides much more value. Many fighters have had problems with their contracts in the UFC. The biggest example is Francis Ngannou, who left the UFC and joined boxing, where he has earned more than $50 million.
Logan Paul Called Out
The former two-division champion posted a tweet early Tuesday morning, where he mentioned his plans for the upcoming months. He rejected the rumors about him facing the current UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, upon his return. McGregor has not set foot inside the cage since July 2021, when he faced a vicious second round from Dustin Poirier, resulting in a big injury to McGregor’s Shin Bone.
Conor made a big announcement about a boxing match at that time. He also announced that he had been negotiating for an exhibition boxing match against another YouTuber and WWE wrestler, Logan Paul.
McGregor wrote this on X. “The rumors of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
As we know, McGregor’s business interests apart from UFC have heightened, and his net worth is in the millions. This allowed him to have various connections all over the world. So now he is in contact with the Ambani family, the richest family in India.
Ambani Family and Conor McGregor
Mukesh Ambani leads Reliance Industries Limited and owns a fortune estimated at $98.3 billion. His company is involved in various industries, including energy, petrochemicals, natural gas, entertainment, and telecommunications. Ambani has massive business dealings across India but is not known for supporting boxing.
He also runs a company that collaborates closely with the entertainment industry. In July, his family was in the international headlines because of the wedding of his son, Anant Ambani, to Radhika Merchant, on which the Ambanis spent $600 million.
Conor is not only exchanging words with Logan Paul but also with his brother, Jake Paul. McGregor was furious when Jake fought against Mike Tyson even though he had challenged Paul to a fight. But for now, Paul and McGregor are exchanging words before this fight to hype it up.
Logan Paul wrote on X as a reply to McGregor’s call out. “Now it all makes sense why Conor Mcgregor and his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us. As we told them privately and I’m now saying it publicly…the only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are OK with discussions. Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan by however he wants.”
Final Thoughts
In the past, McGregor didn’t take the Paul’s very seriously and mocked them. He also said that he would ‘slap the nose’ of Logan Paul when the YouTube star was gearing up for a boxing fight against the Irishman. As a response, Paul replied, “I’d like to see him try to slap the nose off my face.”
Jake Paul often calls out McGregor for his poor performance in the Octagon and how he often talks about his return but never acts on it. But now Conor faces serious legal problems, which have damaged his status in the fight business. So, to recover from that, he’s trying to promote a big fight. What are your thoughts about the upcoming possible fight between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul?
