Colorado Buffaloes: 2024 Prime Time Light Shines Bright

Deion Sanders has the ability to thrust the Colorado Buffaloes back into the limelight.

The Colorado Buffaloes made headlines on the gridiron last season. Led by head coach Deion Sanders, the Buffs took the college football world by storm. Even though they lost their final six games, Coach Prime’s team is ready to silence their doubters in 2024. As they prepare to return to the Big XII this season, Sanders is ready to transform the Buffs into championship contenders.

Since their inaugural season in 1890, the Colorado Buffaloes have been a tradition-driven team. Since being hired in 2022, Deion Sanders has worked tirelessly to restore the winning tradition. Prior to his arrival, the Buffs enjoyed their best season in 2016.

Other than a 4-2 finish in a shortened 2020 season, CU has not enjoyed much success since the 1990s. With Coach Prime calling the shots, the Buffs are on their way to becoming perennial championship contenders. As long as the Buffaloes continue to be a force on the recruiting trail, they will be an elite Big XII team next season.

In order for the Colorado Buffaloes to be successful in 2024, they have to be more aggressive on both sides of the ball. With quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way player Travis Hunter anchoring the offense, the Buffs will field a highly-potent unit in 2024.

Furthermore, wide receiver transfer LaJohntay Wester will provide Sanders with another deep threat next season. In four seasons at Florida Atlantic University, Wester hauled in over 200 receptions and accounted for 21 touchdowns.

Wester’s speed will compliment that of other receivers Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Vanderbilt transfer Will Sheppard well. Even though prized cornerback Cormani McClain announced his intention to transfer, Prime’s defense should be vastly improved next season as well.

With star players Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Travis Hunter all expected to head to the NFL in 2025, there is speculation about Deion Sanders’ future in Boulder. Currently, Coach Prime is proud of what he has built at CU.

In 2024, Sanders has the ability to thrust the Buffs back into the limelight. The expectations in and around Boulder are at an all-time high. With experts projecting the Buffaloes to finish 10-2 and advance to the 2024 Big XII Championship next season, the future is bright for Sanders’ Buffs.

Furthermore, he isn’t concerned about leaving the Buffs for a heftier paycheck. In 2024, he is going to prove why playing for the Buffaloes is the right choice for athletes.
