Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns Team Up for Epic Showdown

Roman Reigns

Currently reigning as the WWE strap holder, Cody Rhodes will be teaming up with former WWE champion Roman Reigns for this year’s pay-per-view tagged as WWE Bad Blood. The pair, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu, will face their opposition in what is set to be a highly anticipated match-up at Bad Blood. This fight was scheduled well during the dramatic WWE SmackDown show, where there seemed to be rising tension among the wrestlers, constant swapping of sides, and betrayals.

Roman Reigns Returns to Aid Rhodes

Roman Reigns returns to the squared circle during Friday night’s premiere episode of WWE SmackDown on the USA Network. When Cody Rhodes beat Solo Sikoa in a cage fight, he was attacked by Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and the destructive team of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. As a result of the fierce battle just won by Rhodes, he heard the attack from the group’s side, which left him physically drained and unable to continue. At the time when things appeared most hopeless, Roman Reigns came back to the wrestling ring, much to the relief, and joined hands with Dean for support, and without a doubt, the crowd loved this move.

This moment surprised the fans as Rhodes and Roman Reigns had quite a rivalry in the past and engaged in a bitter fight at WrestleMania earlier this year. However, the rivalry was temporarily put aside when Roman Reigns helped Rhodes to attack The Authority; it paved the way for their team up on the Bad Blood event.

Nick Aldis Announces the Match

Earlier in the night, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made a blockbuster announcement: At the Bad Blood pay-per-view event, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns won against the team of Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. But in this case, the match can only happen, if the two men are willing to go with the agreement. Rhodes, barely paying attention, stormed his way to Aldis backstage and made it very apparent he had no desire to join the Bloodline conflict.

Not one to let Rhodes get away with such a comment, Roman Reigns was not far behind in coming to the ring to respond. Aldis started to speak, but he took the mic from him and declared to the crowd that he remained the Tribal Chief and was still in charge of WWE. With that he continued affirming his stand, stating that despite the family issues, he still feels like a big shot at WWE.

The Contract Is Signed

When the anger in the arena built up, Rhodes came down to the ring to have a face-to-face with Roman Reigns. He daringly announced that WWE was not Reign’s property since WrestleMania, he was challenged. It did not go very far before, finally, Solo Sikoa’s music played and he came out to the ring with Jacob Fatu. Soon enough the fight got physical when Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa attacked Rhodes and Reigns from behind.
