Clippers Face Uphill Battle Against Mavericks

Clippers

At this point, the Clippers are behind 2-1 in a playoff series with the Mavericks, and they require different paths to victory than those that they had followed to get into the series. Los Angeles has a big problem in that their reigning Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard, who missed the playoffs because of a bad injury, does not play this year.

On the contrary, the Clippers will wait for his return for games 2 and 3; his limited playing time and poor performance have been a headache for the Clippers.  After two straight defeats, the team is now on the brink of elimination and has to overcome the challenges facing the team’s inability to effectively coordinate Leonard with the team’s game plan.

Whilst the San Antonio Spurs lose the wind at their back in the ongoing series, the Dallas Mavericks begin to pick up the momentum. Their star player’s achievement at the end of Game 3 has motivated the team, and now they are determined to exploit the Clippers’ weaknesses due to their star player’s absence.

The scoreboard was showing 3-1, and the supporting players on both sides were silent, indicating that the Mavericks had a grand chance to take the lead of the game and put the opponent on the spot. The Clipper’s defense of Kawhi Leonard’s superb talent and the Warriors’ capability of exploiting the Clippers’ weaknesses will have a major impact on the result of this hard-fought series.

Clippers’ Resilience Put to the Test

Whereas other rivals have been adversely affected by their problems, the Clippers have shown they are “tough nuts” and the contenders for the championship. The demonstration of the team’s resilience in the absence of MVP Leonard and his remarkable upbeat play.

The Game 1 victory proved that this team can overcome the challenges with success. A highlight of this was the fact that, after the good moments of the team were overshadowed, the losses unearthed the vulnerability of parents to the team in the absence of the player.

To secure a win for the Clippers in the game for LA, which could be the first leveling of the series playing field, the team should find a way to do that. Maybe it’s surprising plays made by their supporting team or an effective, dissimilar move. This squad needs everything to avoid the Mavericks having a commanding 3-1 lead.

The Pivotal Moment

The crucial fourth game of the series is here, with both sides engaged in a competitive struggle to emerge as masters of the situation. The Jamala Clippers’ success in overcoming heavy adversities and the Mavs’ increasing faith in themselves were a quiet statement for the showdown on the hard court to come.

Then, as the referee blows the whistle and the crowds and critics wait with growled hearts, all eyes will be fixed on the course of events. Will it be the Clippers who rally around their abilities to adapt and play as a team, or will it be the brightest moment for the Mavericks, who are desperate to affirm their dominance? The results of Game 4 can very well reflect the manner in which the trend in this dramatic playoff series was brought about.
