That helped contribute to the Cleveland Guardians clinching the division with over a week remaining in the 2024 regular season.
Guardians Manager Terry Francona stepped down at the end of the 2023 season, and Stephen Vogt was hired to fill his lofty shoes. The Vogt era with Cleveland has gotten off to a stellar start. Cleveland has qualified for the MLB Playoffs for the sixth time in the last nine seasons. Will Cleveland be able to parlay this regular season success into success in October?

Cleveland(90-66) has been one of Major League Baseball’s best teams this season. They have the league’s fourth-best record and the second-best record in the American League. The offense of the Cleveland Guardians has been led by the dynamic duo of Third Baseman Jose Ramirez and First Baseman Josh Naylor. They made history this season as they became the 10th set of Guardians teammates to have 30+ home runs and 100+ RBI. Ramirez is seventh in the league in home runs and third in RBI while Naylor is seventh in the league in RBI.
Cleveland’s offense is 20th in batting average, 12th in home runs, and 15th in runs scored. Their pitching staff has been the stronger part of their ballclub this season. They are fourth in ERA, eighth in strikeouts, and fourth in opposing batting average. Their pitching staff is paced by Starting Pitchers Ben Lively and Tanner Bibee. Lively leads the team in wins while Bibee leads them in ERA and strikeouts. The bullpen of the Cleveland Guardians has been historic. Closer Emmanuel Clase is tied for the league lead in saves and Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith are both top-10 in holds.
