The Cleveland Cavaliers are proving to be a resilient bunch this year. Although they know how to win without their players in the lineup sooner or later, there’s a feeling of luck no longer being on their side. And while many would pick them to win on any given night, continuity is important. Therefore, the latest news isn’t a shock or surprise, but it’s something to monitor. Again, this Cleveland team can withstand players being out.
But do they need more active members to consistently be on the floor together if they are going to make an actual deep playoff run this year?
Cleveland Cavaliers Injury Update
When the Cleveland Cavaliers released their injury report for their game against Miami, there was a notable exclusion. Dean Wade is dealing with a knee injury. However, his name isn’t new to the entry report. His presence has been sporadic throughout this regular season. Also, coach JB Bickerstaff seems optimistic. According to him, there isn’t a set timeline for their return, but they are engaged in basketball-related activities. Therefore, they should be back by the beginning of April at the latest.
But, as stated earlier, this team needs to not only get healthy but also play meaningful games together before the playoffs. Additionally, they have Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell is their best player. But continuity within the rotation and within the depth of the role players is important. Therefore, getting Wade, Evan Mobley, and Max Strus back is critical if they are going to make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
Clevland Cavaliers Facing Critical Part of Season
The Cleveland Cavaliers are making the leap as a franchise. They haven’t seen much success in recent history, but they are switching the narrative. However, injuries can derail any team, and this Cavs team is not an exception. Therefore, the inclusion of the three names mentioned on the injury list is a vital part to monitor. Again, they should be able to form a lot of teams.
However, without the three players mentioned earlier, the margin of error goes down, as does the depth. Lack of depth means increased minutes for the starters, and a snowball effect can emerge from there. Regardless, this team hopes to get healthy at the right time and make a final push before the regular season ends.
Cleveland Cavaliers Possibly Living Without
Of course, injuries can be a funny thing. While there isn’t a definite timetable, the Cleveland staff seems optimistic that the players will be able to return. However, setbacks can happen.
And as mentioned, any delay or even complete exclusion of any of the players mentioned above could make things considerably more difficult. However, until we hear otherwise, this Cleveland Cavaliers team not only remains optimistic but also excited about the prospect of being in full health.
