Cincinnati Bengals Star QB Gets Promising Injury News For 2024 Season

Bengals Star QB 2024 Promising Outlook

Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist in week 11 of the 2023 season. He was taken down to the ground by Jadeveon Clowney, a Baltimore Ravens linebacker, wearing # 24.  Burrow falls on his wrists seemingly unremarkably but is visibly in pain during his next passing play. Burrow was taken out for the remainder of the season.

Star QB Joe Burrow had surgery on his wrists to repair a torn ligament. How will this injury affect the 2024 season?

The NFL quotes Dan Pitcher the Bengals offensive coordinator as saying about Burrow, “Nobody is sitting there with a special pitch counter. But we’ve been smart how we put it together”. Burrow said he would keep to himself regarding if there is pain when he throws.

Burrow and his OC, Dan Pitcher are “encouraged” by Burrow’s progress and Pitcher stated, “He’s got all his range and power back”.  In Burrow’s own words, he reports “Feel great”.

All the reports I have read indicate that both Burrow and his OC are smart about his recovery and mindful of the medical professional’s advice.

Dan Pitcher has been on the Bengals coaching staff for eight seasons and has been promoted to OC.

Burrow is no stranger to injury or the recovery process. He experienced a calf strain earlier in 2023 and was able to work through it without losing any time on the field. But he has lost playing time. In fact, Burrow has been on the injury reserve list in two of his four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

In 2020, Burrow suffered a knee injury coincidently also in that season’s 11th week against the Washington Commanders (then known as the Redskins).  Burrow suffered a grade 3 ACL and MCL tear, as well as a PCL and meniscus tear. All grade 3 tears which is the most serious level.

And yet in 2021 after recovering from his injury and knee surgery, he ranked top in passing yards for the Bengals and sixth for the NFL. There is no doubt that he will prevail over his injuries in 2024.

Bleacher Report’s article by Gary Davenport predicts Burrow will lead the league in passing yards in 2024. Burrow was in the top 5 in 2022, and he had 2309 passing yards in 2023 even though he missed the last seven games of the season due to his injury.

Star Quarterback Joe Burrow has been active in OTAs, and in preparation for the 2024 season, Burrow has started a new diet plan. Check out Matt Brown’s article here.
