England and Warwickshire all-rounder – Chris Woakes has declared that he will be back on the cricket field “when he is ready” after losing his dear father recently. He could not take part in the Indian Premier League playing for Punjab Kings as he had not featured in his county this season as he is 35 years of age now.

Woakes missed out on the squad for both Twenty20 World Cups, and he also explained why he was not part of the team in the social media note that he posted. He also stated that despite the hardship that was facing the team at the time, it was important for him to be with his family, and wanted to get back to playing for Warwickshire and England once he was ready.

All-round cricketer from England Chris Woakes stated on Friday that he was away from cricket for the past few weeks due to the death of his father and he will come back to the field when he wants. The 35-year-old Chris Woakes, who represented the Sharjah Warriors in the ILT20 followed by Punjab Kings in the IPL earlier this year, has not been a part of either IPL or Warwickshire. He was also omitted in the recent Twenty20 World Cup squad in the United States and West Indies comprised of only the England team. Warwickshire favorite Chris Woakes, in a social media post, wrote: “It was stated that the last month of work was the most crucial time in a person’s life and unfortunately, the beginning of May saw my dad passing away”.
