Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Showcase Roster Revealed

The Chicago Blackhawks have released their 2024 Tom Kurvers Showcase Roster. The Blackhawks will face the St. Louis Blues on Friday September 14th and take on the Minnesota Wild on Saturday September 15th.

The Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase features players still eligible for NHL rookie status from the Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, and St. Louis Blues. The prospects will compete in a round-robin format of exhibition games during the showcase.

The Blackhawks Roster

Forwards: Colton Dach, Gavin Hayes, Nick Lardis, Paul Ludwinski, Jalen Luypen, Marcel Marcel, Martin Misak, Frank Nazar, Alex Pharand, Ryder Rolston, Samuel Savoie, Landon Slaggert and Aj Spellacy.

Defenceman: Nolan Allen, Lucas Brenton, Ethan Del Mastro, Ty Henry, Wyatt Kennedy, Tnias Mathurin and Artyom Levshunov.

Goalies: Drew Commesso and Ben Gaudreau.

Frank Nazar is Looking Forward to Earning a Blackhawks Roster Spot

Frank Nazar, a 13th overall selection out of Michigan University has been a highly touted prospect for the Blackhawks since they selected him.

Nazar has already made his NHL Debut, where he scored in his first ever shot vs the Carolina Hurricanes, he tallied 1 goal in 3 games last season with the Blackhawks but is looking for a full-time role with the team entering the 2024-2025 season.

“Definitely just the pace of the play, being able to keep up with all those guys for 82 games a year and not just the last three and then just being able to make plays really quickly under pressure and be able to get good at those things, and I think I’d be in a good spot,” Nazar said. “That’s how it’s been my whole life is earning where I got, and it’s just another time where I got to earn my spot on a team and show guys I deserve to be there and just put in all that work, and I know everything’s going to work out.”

2024 Blackhawks Draft Class

Artyom Levshunov Blackhawks

The Blackhawks have multiple players from their 2024 Draft Class playing in the Prospect Tournament so let’s look back at the Blackhawks 2024 Draft Class.

1st Round: Artyom Levshunov (2nd overall), Sacha Boisvert (18th overall) and Marek Vanacker (28th overall).

3rd Round: John Mustard (67th overall), A.J. Spellacy (72nd overall) and Jack Pridham.

The Blackhawks acquired the 92nd overall selection from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Chicago’s 3rd-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft. Chicago used the 92nd overall pick to draft forward Jack Pridham.

5th Round: Joel Svensson (138th overall)

6th Round: Ty Henry (163rd overall)

Artyom Levshunov, Ty Henry and A.J Spellacy are all 2024 Draft Picks playing in this tournament, Levshunov is expected to play in the AHL for the Rockford IceHogs this upcoming 2024-25 season.
