Aston Villa and Chelsea shared the point yesterday. It was yet another action-packed Saturday in the English Premier League. Aston Villa hosted Chelsea at Villa Park. Last weekend Chelsea lost the London derby to Arsenal by 5 goals to nothing.
This is a huge blow to the Blues and their fans as they lost such a crucial game and they are yet to recover from their loss against Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal. While many including the Chelsea fans had hoped for a better result, it was overwhelming to see the game end disgracefully.
Arsenal have been on a positive run since the beginning of the season, that match was so crucial for them as they hope to win the Premier League this season. The stakes were high and they hit the jackpot.
With few games left to be played in the English Premier League, do you think there’s a chance for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to maintain their position in the top four? Well, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
While Chelsea lost to Arsenal and Manchester City, they gave their local fans hope after holding Aston Villa to a draw. Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery has successfully won 3 times, drew 3, and lost 5 out of 11 games against Chelsea. What will be their fate at the end of the season? Are we going to see them at the Champions League next season? I hope so!
Was Chelsea’s Gallagher In Great Form Last Night?

While watching the game between Aston Villa and Chelsea, there were some wrong and miscalculated passes from both teams but Chelsea had more of that. I couldn’t help but notice most of it from Chelsea’s Connor Gallagher.
He gave away crucial passes that could have led to positive counterattacks toward the end of the first half. As we hoped to see things turn around for him, it did. He leveled the score for his team towards the end of the second half, giving Chelsea a chance to take a point.
Did We See The Cole Palmer Effect Against Aston Villa?
I think Cole Palmer didn’t have much impact wasn’t on the game. He didn’t feature in the game against Arsenal due to injury.
We had hoped to see him create more chances for his side and possibly score goals. His injury affected his side, thus seeing less of Cole on the pitch.
Conclusion
While the game didn’t end as both teams envisioned, hopefully, they will have to go back to the drawing board and fix their lapses. While Cole Palmer wasn’t in his best performance in that game, Madueke stepped in and performed magic with his goal, thus building his team’s spirit.
As for Aston Villa, we hope they win their next game against Brighton. This will keep them 10 points clear 5th place Tottenham.
