Each year, there always seems to new Brazilian kid destined for football greatness. And European teams are always on the lookout. Chelsea has now become the latest club to swoop in for a wonder kid before his value goes up.
To say this kid is good is an understatement. His dribbling, speed of thought, and composure on the ball are proving to be a nightmare for opposition defenses. Just like Robinho, Neymar, Vinicius, and now Endrick, he’s set to make Europe his home.
So, who is this kid, and does he have as much talent as the hype around him?
Estevao Willian Becomes the Next Blue

Estevao Willian is a 17-year-old Palmerias sensation. What he lacks in size and frame, he makes up for in football skills and intelligence. It’s no wonder the young magician has already been dubbed ‘Messinho’ or Little Messi.
Numerous sources in Brazil indicate that he’s possibly better than Real Madrid’s recent acquisition of Endrick. Another Palmeiras prodigy who, at only 17 years of age, scored against England at Wembley. Should these assertions prove to be true, then Chelsea may have just made the steal of the century.
His electrifying skills have made him one of the highest-ranked prospects in South America. With numerous clubs after his signature, it’s Chelsea that have secured it. This is largely because Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea owners, believe that he has the potential to create a legacy at the London Club.

Transfer Fee

The initial transfer fee for Estevao Willian is set at £29.1 million. This is a considerable figure given the lack of professional minutes by the youngster. However, it shows the potential he carries.
Considering numerous young players like Lamine Yamal (16 years) of Barcelona and Kobbie Mainoo (19 years) are paying at the elite level, there’s no reason he can’t hit the ground running.
Should he do so, Plameiras can expect more paydays. Total Apex Sports understands that the deal includes various performance-related add-ons through which the transfer may cost more than £51 million.
The First of Many Chelsea Signings
https://gty.im/2147733341
There’s no doubt that Estevao Willian has the potential to make it on the big stage. But that’s not the only reason the West London club has signed him. He’s part of a larger strategy of recruiting youthful players with potential and building them.
Others who have already been recruited include Deivid Washington, Andrey Santos, Angelo, and Kendry Paez. Those who prove to be exceptionally talented are set to form the core of Chelsea’s team in the future. The rest may end up being sold to other clubs where they can get minutes.
Either way, this is a smart strategy by Chelsea. If these players succeed, they’ll have stars in their ranks without paying the high fees as is with the current transfer market. On the other hand, should they have to sell these players, they’ll be in for a killing as they cost very little to sign.
