Chelsea Set To Sign Fulham Defender Ahead Of Newcastle

Fulham is losing one of their best players to the dreaded summer transfer window, and it seems as though Chelsea are the front runners to purchase this talented defender from the other Premier League contenders. Chelsea is in the works of sealing the deal when it comes to a talented center-back who can make all the difference for the Blues heading into the 2024-2025 Premier League campaign.

Chelsea didn’t do nearly as well s they had hoped at the beginning of the 2023 year, ending mid-table and missing out on key competitions and trophies they could have secured with better playing, coaching, and tactics. They are already in their rebuilding phase for next year, so they hope to beat out other PL sides to sign a special backline number that can help them keep clean sheets and place higher next campaign.

Chelsea in the Market for Fulham Center Back

Chelsea are all set to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham, reports have said. Enzo Maresca, the new Blues manager who just recently took over for Pochettino after the club parted ways with the gaffer, is set to make his first big mark on the league with this transfer. If he can do so, he will have beaten out the Red Devils and Newcastle to sign the strong and technical central defender from Fulham.

According to one of the most on-the-beat publications in the United Kingdom, the Sun, Chelsea is ahead of the curve when it comes to offering a contract and striking a deal with Adarabioyo.

‘The Blues have been battling with Newcastle for the center-back, 26, while Manchester United was also noted as a potential destination. The West London club, who are preparing to welcome Enzo Maresca as their new manager, are set to land the ex-Manchester City man – who is out of contract this summer. Fulham have been resigned to losing Adarabioyo since he snubbed their offer of a bumper new deal.’

And you can’t blame him. Chelsea are poised to rank much higher than Fulham or Newcastle United in the PL next season, although Newcastle has come a long way in the last couple of years.

Adarabioyo to Chelsea means Manchester United Could Have a New Signing

But, not all is bad for Manchester United. Even if they lose out on signing Adarabioyo from Fulham due to Chelsea pouncing on the matter a little bit quicker, it means they could have the funds and the slots to sign Chalobah.

Chalobah could move to Manchester United from Chelsea, making it a sort of ‘trade-off’ that benefits both clubs. Since this player is an academy prospect who was a homegrown player, this is a huge profit for Chelsea FC who can benefit from their new player AND financially from selling Chalobah to United.

On the other hand, other clubs are not as lucky when it comes to trades or transfers. Everton is in a terrible financial position after their pitiful 2023 campaign, seeing them near the bottom of the table and without any big prospects coming in the door. Branthwaite is looking to leave the club for around $70 million to get more minutes at a better club for the 2024 PL season.

Although he may not want to leave the club, the collapse of the backing of the club after 777 Partners decided to take their money elsewhere means that Everton could lose the majority of their big-name signings currently in their squad.
