Charlotte Flair Injury Return Update

WWE, Charlotte Flair

It has been a while since we have seen Charlotte Flair on WWE television as she continues to recover from a massive knee injury that she sustained in December 2023. However, with her not being seen or heard from on weekly episodic television throughout 2024 and the projected timeline for her injury to be coming up, people have been speculating when she will return to the ring. Let’s take a deeper dive into the latest Charlotte Flair update.

Charlotte Flair has not been in a ring since the December 8, 2023 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, where she wrestled against Asuka in a losing manner. In that match, she suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select is reporting that despite reports about her being involved with Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair is not cleared yet and at the beginning of 2024, it was not expected that she would return to the ring this calendar year.

However, back in February, she was ahead of schedule in her recovery but nothing else has really been speculated. When speaking to a source in WWE, Sapp was told that until Charlotte Flair is officially cleared for an in-ring return, it is not likely that there will be creative put in place for her.

When is the best time for Charlotte Flair to return to WWE?

The best place to have Charlotte Flair officially pop back up on WWE television is the 2025 Royal Rumble inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Royal Rumble is famous for wrestlers returning from injuries and immediately giving them a “Road to Wrestlemania”. Having Charlotte Flair return in that match would immediately return her to the championship picture and help create a feud for her based on who eliminates her.

There is also a chance that despite seeing her last on Smackdown, she would return to be part of WWE Monday Night RAW as having the show on Netflix would increase the star appeal. However, with her relationship with fellow Smackdown superstar Andrade, it is likely that she will be remain part of the Smackdown roster for the time being. The one good thing about her being off of television for so long is that it allows her to be missed by the fans and gives her the chance to re-invent the character that seemingly has been a bit flat as it is the same general character since she debuted on the main roster almost a full decade ago.

Where do you think is the best spot for Charlotte Flair to return to WWE television?
