Saudi Club Chasing Casemiro From Manchester United

Just like other top-name plates in the Premier League, Casemiro might be heading overseas to somewhere other than England. Although the Prem used to be the league that could pay players the highest salaries per year, including goal bonuses, transfer fees, and release clauses, a new league has since risen above England — financially, at least.

Saudi Arabia has received some of the best players from around the world due to their promises of amazing wages and long-lasting salaries, including N’golo Kante from Chelsea, Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United, and Benzema from Real Madrid.

It would be a shame for another United player to leave England to go to the Saudi Pro League, but that could be the case for Casemiro next season. Only time will tell what happens next for this veteran player.

Is Casemiro leaving United? After the terrible season he had during the 2023-2024 campaign, that could be a fact — coupled with the non-disputable reason that he is aging and considered a veteran player. Manchester United fans were already surprised when the Red Devils signed him as a midfielder two seasons ago since he is an older player, but he performed well during his first season in England.

However, last year, playing out of position and injuries hampered the talented midfielder and caused him to barely make an impact on the pitch — a good one, that is. Now, Casemiro has been talking to several Saudi Pro League clubs to consider going abroad from England.

His agents have talked to numerous Saudi Arabian teams in the Pro League to see if they can score a lucrative deal that will see him on one of the most prolific offers of anyone in the world Manchester United is also open to discussing the departure of the player due to his lack of playing time and unhappiness at the club.

The 32-year-old Casemiro had a poor last season at Old Trafford, which is unacceptable considering he was purchased from Real Madrid, the La Liga giants and UWCL winners, for more than $60 million in 2022.

Now, United have to think about who they can purchase to fill the gap in the midfield and the defensive line if Casemiro was to leave. They should consider purchasing a young player who can grow within the system, like the Dutch international Zirkzee, to fill any gaps.

They will hope to do better than last year when they finished in a jaw-dropping eighth place — one of the worst seasons ever for United in the Prem. They ended the season with 60 points, which is only eight points behind fourth place but seems like a world away. They were also only three points off Chelsea who ended in sixth, but their lack of form and consistency saw them barely make the top ten.

Now, they will hope to score more goals this season and let in fewer goals against. They scored 57 goals last season — one of the worst among the top ten Premier League clubs. In comparison, City scored 96 goals in 38 appearances, letting in just 34 goals. United let in 58 goals in the same number of games.
