Carson Beck Receives Shocking Grade From NFL Scout For 2025 NFL Draft

Georgia Bulldogs Carson Beck 2025 NFL Draft

Carson Beck and the Georgia Bulldogs are coming off an embarrassing loss on Saturday to the Old Miss Rebels. While the weather was less than ideal, the offense was only able to muster up 10 points against a middle-of-the-road defense. Over the past few weeks, Beck has struggled to find his rhythm. He has thrown an interception in four straight games, two of which were three interception performances. For the team, their College Football Playoff hopes may be fading. However, things may be getting worse for Beck, as one NFL scout gave him a shockingly low grade for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Carson Beck 2025 NFL Draft Grade

For most of the season, Beck has been mocked to the first round. I myself had him going in the top ten in my latest mock draft. However, many people are starting to leave him out of their first-round projections because of his recent performances. Averaging over two interceptions a game is not a recipe for success. One NFC East scout told ESPN’s Matt Miller he would be surprised if the Georgia Bulldogs quarterback went on day one.

“The conversation around Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is fascinating. One AFC South scout told me this week he views Beck in the ‘late-first-round range’ because he’s the ‘cleanest’ of the quarterback prospects in terms of frame, arm strength and scheme versatility. However, an NFC East scout told me his grade on Beck was the third round. The variance is big, and Beck hasn’t helped himself, throwing multiple interceptions in four games this season, including four of his past six performances. He needs a hot streak down the stretch to rejuvenate his stock.”

A third-round grade is a huge drop from where he was a few months ago. According to NFL Mock Draft Database, his stock has been plummeting. While many agree with the AFC South scout, some would not spend a pick in the first two rounds. Even with that grade, it is unlikely he will fall that far. Many teams need an upgrade at the quarterback position, and his raw skills are there. He has shown in the past two years he is able to put together big drives in big games. However, sports have recency bias. No one cares what you did last year, only what you are doing now.

Georgia Outlook

The best way for Carson Beck to see his 2025 NFL Draft stock go back up is to lead Georgia on a winning streak. They only have three games left in the regular season, and next week is a big one. The Tennessee Volunteers come to Athens, hungry to boost their own SEC resume ahead of the College Football Playoff selection day. If Georgia drops a third game, it is likely they will be on the outside looking in. The good news is after Saturday, games against UMass and Georgia Tech are all that is left. While the Yellowjackets shouldn’t be overlooked, the Bulldogs are a better team.

The game against the Volunteers is even more important because they are one of the teams Georgia is chasing in the SEC standings. Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Texas are the only one-loss teams in the SEC. If the Bulldogs want a shot at playing in the SEC championship game, they need some help. Getting into that game and possibly winning will help solidify their case to the committee.

College Football Playoff

On Tuesday, we will have an idea of how the committee feels about Georgia after their loss to Ole Miss. Many outlets have them getting one of the last at-large bids. USA Today has them as an 11th seed. Many members of ESPN’s staff have them in a similar spot. However, plenty of people have left them out, especially after how they’ve played in the past few weeks. One thing is for sure: if the Bulldogs lose on Saturday, they can kiss their College Football Playoff hopes goodbye. Many teams in the SEC are happy that there is an expanded playoff. This season has been defined by upsets to many of the top programs.

Final Thoughts

Carson Beck has three more weeks to show off what he can do for an NFL team. Getting drafted in the later rounds doesn’t mean he won’t be a good NFL quarterback. We’ve seen plenty of players get drafted on day two or three and have successful NFL careers. However, his poor play may have cost him a lot of money. There is a huge difference in pay from a top-ten pick to a third-round pick. This Saturday is a massive opportunity for him and an essential game for Georgia’s season.
