The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have a had tough season. Following that early victory away against the Punjab Kings, the Royal Challengers have languished at the bottom for much of the season. Following four straight defeats most pundits had written off their chances of making it into the qualifiers. However, luckily for the Royal Challengers, they are not the only team this season to be having a bad run in IPL 2024.
Both the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat Titans are having a torrid time. But then in the final calculus that may not count as only the top four teams make it through to the playoffs.
Can the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Make a Comeback?

Unlikely but not impossible. With three games left in the season, winning all three would increase their total points to fourteen. The current leaders Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals already have sixteen points each, which means the Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be left competing for the 3rd and 4th spots. With three teams at twelve points, and the Sun Risers Hyderabad already on twelve points with a game in hand. Things are not looking good for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Whilst it is not wrong to hope one must also be realistic. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have a had tough season, sure, but they have failed to win those crunch games that the top teams have managed to. That heartbreaking one-run loss to KKR was especially painful. But these things happen in cricket. To this one can also add the 25-run defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad, in a game where they scored 262 on the losing side! Again, if the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are to qualify a lot needs to go their way.
Lessons from a Tough Season for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The best thing that can come out of IPL 2024 is that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru is that they learn from these experiences and prepare for a better campaign next year. One of the major concerns for the Royal Challengers Bangalore has been a poor string of performances by Glen Maxwell. The star player from Australia has had an off-season. Not even reaching 5 in his last four outings. Things need a shakeup at the top where the team is over-reliant on a few players to score runs.
At the same time, the players and the fans need to have faith. Captain Faf du Plessis has reflected on the team’s performances and no doubt with the quality they pack in the side, with a faithful fandom and being one of the top clubs in the competition they have what it takes to make it big next season. Or if things go their way, maybe even in this.
