BREAKING: Buffalo Bills Sign Kareem Jackson For 2024 Season

Buffalo Bills sign critical member of secondary on eve of NFL season.

The Buffalo Bills signed Safety Kareem Jackson to a one-year contract earlier today according to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter. The exact terms of Jackson’s contract are yet to be announced. Jackson played in only 10 games last season between the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans. He was suspended twice last season for “repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players.” He lost six games to suspension during the 2023 NFL season.

When Jackson was on the field last season he had 53 tackles and two interceptions. Last season was not the best in the veteran safety’s career. How will the veteran safety fare this season for a Buffalo Bills team that enters 2024 with massive expectations?

Kareem Jackson Career Summary

Jackson was drafted in 2010 by the Houston Texans as the 20th overall pick. He spent the first nine seasons of his career in Houston before signing with the Denver Broncos before the 2019 season. He spent parts of the next four seasons in the “Mile High City” and was waived by Denver late in the 2023 season. Jackson has 955 total tackles and 22 interceptions over 203 career games in the National Football League.

What Will Jackson Bring To The Buffalo Bills Defense?

Jackson is yet another piece of what will be a revamped Buffalo Bills defense heading into the 2024 season. The team will be without Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer, their starting safety duo from last season. Jackson will be joined in the backend of the defense by Taylor Rapp as Free Safety Mike Edwards recovers from a hamstring injury. He is considered “week to week” according to Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott.

Jackson joins a Buffalo Bills defense that was strong last season. They were ninth in total yards allowed and fourth in opposing points per game allowed. This is a do-or-die season for Bills Quarterback Josh Allen. The team has been close in the AFC for years but has consistently been bested by the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Members of “Bills Mafia” hope that 2024 is the season when the team can burst through and win that elusive Super Bowl.
