LeBron James’ youngest son, Bryce James, has committed to the University of Arizona as part of the Wildcats’ 2025 men’s basketball class. James, 17, announced in an Instagram post with the caption “100% committed.” James also received offers from Ohio State University and Duquesne University. The Dukes were reportedly his first offer in the Summer of 2022, and the Buckeyes welcomed him in an unofficial visit in the Fall of 2023.
James, a three-star prospect who plays as a shooting guard, attended Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, California, before transferring to Campbell Hall School in Studio City, Los Angeles, Calif. However, James just attended Campbell Hall School for a few months before transferring to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Ultimately, James returned to Sierra Canyon.
Bryce James Commits To Arizona
Bryce James, a 6-foot-6, 180-lb shooting guard, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but like his older brother, Bronny James, he played prep basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Los Angeles. James is best known for his shooting potential with a naturally soft touch, compact release, and ability to make three-pointers and pull-ups. James is also known for his advanced left hand, partially due to his solid understanding of the game.
On Wednesday, ESPN posted on X, formerly Twitter, “Breaking: Bryce James has committed to Arizona, he announced on social media.” ESPN’s post generated mixed emotions among users, with one user writing, “He’s better than his brother” and another writing, “They should change the rules, so LeBron could play season in College at Arizona.”
James’ Stats
As a whole, Bryce James attracted positive emotions among fans as the men’s basketball program at Arizona has grown in recent years. James, a three-star recruit, has been ranked by 247 Sports as the 289th prospect in the United States and the 46th-best shooting guard in the Class of 2025. James’ rankings weren’t nearly as high as other recruits, but his surname could make up for his flaws.
The Future Is Bright
Bryce James, who has more than two million followers on Instagram and more than 700,000 on TikTok, has a bright future ahead of him. James’ visit to Arizona last fall caused a social media storm, despite Arizona’s doom and gloom in its football and basketball programs. James’ post of him wearing a Wildcats jacket and shorts, along with a picture with his mother, Savannah James, earned over 20,000 likes.
The Wildcats now have two players in James and fellow star prospect Dwayne Aristode in its 2025 recruiting class. Aristode, 18, committed to the Wildcats during the early signing period in October 2024. Aristode is best known as a small forward who runs very well, leaps explosively, and plays above the rim with ease. Aristode is also known as an extremely talented defender with game-changing potential.
James’ role with the Wildcats remains up in the air, but it’s safe to say James will be an interesting add-on to the Wildcats’ roster. The Wildcats have won three games in a row, with its last win, 90-81, over the TCU Horned Frogs on Monday, December 30, 2024. Their next game is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. Eastern, against the No. 16 Cincinnati Bearcats.
