Bryan Danielson Clarifies His Future as AEW World Champion

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson has been made slightly clearer after what the wrestler said on Wednesday’s Dynamite edition. The AEW superstar and wrestling veteran Danielson announced that as soon as he drops the AEW World Championship, he will be done with his in-ring career full-time. But in a bid to calm his fans, he steadily confirms that he does not plan soon to retire from the ring.

How He Scored an All-In Victory

Towards the last five minutes of the show, Bryan Danielson ended his segment by giving the audience a promo about his wrestling career ahead. He went to the win of AEW All-in event in 2019 where he pinned down Swerve Strickland to become the new AEW world champion. When he looked back on his career, he thinks, he enjoyed the title win much more because his family was there to witness it. He pointed out the importance of winning the title that he had tried to win again, and he did that again while there were 5000 people in the audience to watch him.

He also cleared the air on his current position to mean that he has been wrestling without a contract since August 1st. He said he requires neck surgery soon, an operation that has been hanging over his head.

Furthermore, Bryan Danielson agrees with this admitting that wrestling has affected his private life and that his family wants him back home. However, he said he was grateful for AEW because it means the promotion has contributed to enhancing the welfare of professional wrestling and making his life better.

Deep in thought, Bryan Danielson revealed that after thinking it over, he decided not to retire and to keep holding the AEW World Championship. However, he aspires to be a boxing champion who would not shy from any contender for the belt. However, he emphasized that if he loses the championship, he will retire from being a full-time wrestler.

Soon after the announcement from him, Jack Perry rose to the occasion, in what could very well turn into a blockbuster fight at the All Out PPV scheduled to take place in Chicago next month. This match will be highly significant because this can be the last fight that Danielson wrestles as a full-fledged wrestler.

The Time Isn’t Right to Settle Down

Bryan Danielson who is 43 years fresh has been very vocal about his goals of one year as a full-performing shaker. In a recent interview, which he conducted with Jim Ross ahead of All In, he admitted that he anticipates that he will need neck surgery by year-end. These comments coupled with this surgery also bring into question whether he is at the tail-end of his wrestling career, and as such, every single match from this point on is even more important.

While Bryan Danielson may now be on what is possibly the last leg of his wrestling career, his fans have every reason to look forward to watching him defend his title and have more great matches in AEW. Whether he will hold the belt for several months or he may be stripped of this honor in the next match, he is part of wrestling history as one of the most dynamic wrestlers of his generation.
