Bronny James is one of the most interesting prospects in this year’s NBA Draft. Being the son of one of the greatest players to ever play makes this a unique situation. While we’ve seen sons of former players in the league, Bronny and his dad have the chance to play together. Many teams were intrigued by the idea of drafting the younger James in order to lure LeBron to their team. While the normal suitors are in the mix, one report indicates the Utah Jazz might be interested as well.
Utah Jazz Interested In Bronny James
Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports was the first to report the interest from the Utah Jazz. Bronny James has been working out at the NBA Combine and has drawn a lot of attention. The Jazz are taking notice.
“The Jazz have expressed interest in bringing Bronny in for an individual workout and could be interested in him with the 32nd pick, sources told Yahoo Sports,” Peek reported. “The franchise has been patiently rebuilding behind the leadership of Danny Ainge, and bringing in Bronny with the hopes of luring a superstar like LeBron could be the jump owner Ryan Smith is looking for to add a spark to the Jazz.”
The Jazz have torn the team down to the studs. They have a massive amount of picks due to the trades involving Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. If they are able to land some big-name free agents, this team could compete in the Western Conference right away.
Will This Actually Work?
Everyone is working under the assumption that if they draft Bronny James, LeBron will come as well. While the four-time NBA champion has stated he wants to play with his son, that is far from a guarantee it will actually happen. Furthermore, some question how the game of the younger James will translate to the NBA. Some point to his poor college numbers as a reason he will fail. Others say the USC Trojans didn’t use him right and he is built for the NBA game.
For what it is worth, Bronny James has been impressing people during the NBA Combine. He scored 13 points in an exhibition game on Wednesday and has shown good awareness on the court. It isn’t fair to say he will become a superstar like his dad but he could turn into a quality rotation piece. All eyes will be on one player during the NBA Draft this summer.
